SHAUNA SOLOMON
"I WANNA BE"
BBM Magazine IRELAND
This track comes from Miami with a deep and dark
feel to it. The Italian wizard Ricky Montanari lends his considerable production
skills to this track and it shows. It’s a track that really grows on you- the
sort of tune that makes people feel really good about themselves when they enter
a club. It’s in no way frivolous, demanding, as it does, that you give it
attention and respect with an understated vocal provided by Shauna herself. An
essential buy for any deep or funky house aficionados.

"I WANNA BE"
DJ Magazine October 2001
Very housey tribally beats and a female vocal
teased over the top start you off, but at this point it could still go two ways
– more funky or dirtier. It takes the dirtier route, but it’s not over the top
like so many tribal tracks at the moment that are too dark and too moody and are
no good to dance to either. This just does enough to give it an edge but won’t
scare the girls off the dancefloor as it has a full vocal. A great early/mid set
groover.

"I WANNA BE"
DJ MAGAZINE November 2001
"I Wanna Be" straddles the two approaches with a
powerful – almost diva – vocal from Shauna over a dirty, Murk-like cutting
groove from M&S’ Ricky Montanari with help from Stephano Greppi. On the B-side,
Davide Ruberto helps Ricky turn in a filtered tribal-tech groover that works
equally well.
