KROME AVENUE
"GET UP / BELIEVE"
MIXER MAGAZINE APRIL 99
The first two releases from this upstart label
from Miami sounds more like it's New York-based. it's evident that the
producers are heavily influenced by Tenaglia, calderone, and perhaps a little
vasquez. Heck, they even give thanks to Waxman. Deep, dark and
tribal, both tracks use samples consistent with their respective titles.
While "Get Up" is more minimal of the two, eventually leading into a winding 303
line, "Believe" has a trippy synth stab and heavier beats. An excelent
debut with noble results.
