SHAUNA SOLOMON
"Whatcha Gonna Do"
DMA Magazine - January 2000
Whatcha gonna do? Put out some incredible final
remixes, that's what! I'm not saying that the first two sets of remixes
were not good, but I am saying that Ex-Funky Green Dogs vocalist Shauna
Solomon's new remixes of "Whatcha Gonna Do" are off the hook. The Michael
T Diamond remix gives you hard driving tribal beats with chants of "Whatcha
gonna do when I'm gone boy," building up and then dropping out to just a
baseline. After the vocals roll for a minute those pumpin tribal beats
drop in again. Layer after layer of vocals, beats and synths will keep
your crown in an uproar. For those of you on the progressive tip, check
out the Drumatic Mix. You are driven by a 1312 BPM four on the floor beat
layered with trancy synths. Lots of builds and dropouts make for a
definite late night crowd pleaser. Harlequin left no rock unturned with
these remixes. Not only were the tribal and progressive covered, but they
give you mixes by C&M Productions, Tina Tuna and DJ Soulman, which covers
the commercial, filtered, and after-hours grooves. No matter what your
style is, you will truly be rewarded.

"Whatcha Gonna Do"
DJ TIMES - JUNE 2000
The former featured vocalist for Funky
Green Dogs' "Reach For Me" heads out on her own with this impressive
female-empowerment cut, a great sing-along number that'll stick in clubbers'
heads well after the dancefloor. My fave is the "Tina Tuna Out The Door
Mix." There is a Michael T Diamond mix for a deeper New York feel. A
great song for a great vocalist.
